Kourtney Kardashian would like you all to know that she did not cheat on her baby daddy, thank you very much.
In case you haven’t been keeping up with the Kardashians (hahaha), model Michael Girgenti filed a paternity suit against Kourtney last week, claiming that he, not Scott Disick, is Mason’s father. Kourtney, practical gal that she is (well, as practical as any of the Kardashians are capable of being), went ahead and had a paternity test done. The results are in, according to E! Online, and surprise!… or, not so much: Scott is, in fact, Mason’s daddy, and he’s got the DNA to prove it.
“After three-and-a-half years of rumors and lies being spread by an individual I met briefly at a photo shoot, I am setting the record straight that Scott is Mason’s father,” Kourtney said in a statement. “While it saddens me to have to address these ridiculous lies—especially when the truth was never in doubt—this story must be put to rest.” I don’t blame her for being annoyed, because seriously. WTF, dude.
Which of course begs the question: Why on earth was Girgenti trying so hard to stake a false claim as Mason’s dad?

As with many things (like LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s “scripted reality show”), the simple answer is probably money. First, you can sell the story, which he has apparently tried to do; Kourt’s lawyer, Todd Wilson, stated, “We have not seen the reported court filing, but we are informed that this individual has been seeking to get paid to publish his ridiculous pleading. His claims are absurd and this is simply another shameful attempt to gain publicity and profit from fictional stories about my client.” And second? The Kardashians, as much as most of us dislike them, are worth an awful lot; weaseling your way into their circle of insanity could result in a pretty massive payday. Of course, I can’t imagine there being ANY amount of money that would make someone want to join the circus that is the Kardashian family, but maybe that’s just me.
There’s also this, though: The court documents somewhat bizarrely revealed that Girgenti not only wanted the judge to order DNA tests for him, Kourtney, Mason, and Scott, but that he actually wanted joint custody of Mason. This makes it sound like he’s deluded himself into thinking that he actually IS Mason’s father—in which case I really hope he gets the help he needs, especially since he’s claiming that the paternity test results could have been fixed.”
